We were so close to being nominated for the best of award from HomeStars in 2020.
Dave started helping out a few restaurant owners independently back in 2019, as he was an apprentice Chef at Huron University. Being familiar with the day to day operation, equipment and cleaning protocols, Dave was able to step in and assemble a team of cleaners to essentially clean restaurants both out front and in the kitchen. With most culinary industries experiencing a staffing hardship, it wasn't long before more restaurants came on board.
With hours of research, Dave had found there was no cleaning services with a restaurant focus able to bring a complete digital experience online. Thus, we became Cleand.ca. The idea was to bring all the information our clients needed and put it in front of their face, along with upfront pricing and honest business, they were able to make an informed decision and then book online within seconds, without having an consultation appointment where a pushy sales person showed up that wasn't interested in knowing you, but rather selling you. It wasn't long before Cleand.ca started to receive online bookings for residential clients asking us for tailored cleaning services. They loved the idea of it being on demand, customized, and flexible.
We registered Cleand as a business and received our license on April 28, 2020. COVID-19 was in it's first wave and many of us across Canada were in our first lockdown, while social distancing we lost 90% our restaurant clients. We took a break to restructure our business, and re-opened in July 2020 after listening to feedback from our users on our website. Dave started working with experienced home cleaners to bring residential clientele a truly exceptional in-home service.
